The Main Street Garden Cafe in the Capitola Soquel area is a restaurant very new to the area. The restaurant, resides where Theo’s used to be which was one of the most popular of all Capitola Restaurants. In my first visit to the Main Street Garden Cafe, this is my opinion and review of this restaurant in the Soquel/Capitola area.

Restaurants are to be rated not only on food, but also on wine selection food presentation and service. When I pay $200 per person I expect outstanding service! Also I expect to talk to a person about my wine, and not to a waiter that is unsure of what he is recommending.

Don’t get me wrong, Main Street Garden Cafe offers excellent contemporary food!

On the other hand – service is mediocre. The hostess was quite uninviting and seemed to be bored out of her mind. Our waiter was nervous and kept disappearing from time to time.
