Nothing is more exciting for a child then a trip to Disney World. I had promised my kids a trip to Disney a long time ago and they have never let me forget it. We also had a friend who worked for the airline, so she was able to get me tickets at half of the price. When I took my two kids to Disney World, they could not believe how great it was. We were able to eat all that we wanted to at the resort, so I told the kids just to get one thing at the park and they were fine with that. My kids went on all the rides and they had the greatest time ever at Disney. My kids loved their vacation because nothing can be greater for a child then a trip to Disney.
Being a frequent traveller, I have enabled Google Alerts on travel deals and other things that is related to travel. Today, I received an alert on Israel tours 2011. I do not know why I got curious, but I almost instinctively clicked on the link. Browsing through the travel deals and tour packages, it looks like clicking on the link is not at all regrettable. They are all great deals! They are so amazing that I am now looking at my office calendar and starting to schedule a leave. I am thinking of maybe going to Israel for a vacation sometime in the fall so that the weather will not be as scorching as it is right now and not as chilly as it normally is during the winter. During this vacation to Rome, I am staying in a nice Rome apartment. My sister introduced the apartments to me a few years back. Since we visit our parents every year in Rome, we have always stayed at hotels. But then her boyfriend told her that she should look into these shortstay apartment things, and she did. She nevr looked back. A few years ago, I thought it would be awkward for me to stay at such a place because you get to see the locals come and go, and it didn’t feel like an official tourist thing like with the hotels. At first I was afraid, but then I felt okay about it. I guess I just had to get used to the idea that there would not be any tourist gathering downstairs when I go down to the lobby. This feels more like the real Rome though, and I think I am going to love it!

I was such a social person, I hated my own company and always needed people around. I’m not sure why it was, but it had always been the case with me. But I so wanted to break out of this mould, so I decided going travelling by myself would be an important thing for me to do, to be able to stand on my own two feet. I was starting my travels in Brazil, and had booked a few nights in a hostel and that was it. I had no idea how long I wanted to stay for, or even where I was going to go next. I was going to completely play it by ear.
On my first night there I met some amazing people in the hostel. There were such a fun group of Brazilian boys, who were also planning to travel around South America, but like me, had no plans. They came from Rio de Janeiro, but were here in Sao Paulo for the first time. Thank god they were there, as the hostel was absolutely disgusting. So, one night, after a few beers we decided we should stay in Sao Paulo for a week, but move out of this place and get the best short term Sao Paulo apartment that we could find.
As we were a group of 5, we would (hopefully) be able to share the price between us all, and it wouldn’t be too expensive. We wandered around the city, and there were just so many signs offering the most amazing new Sao Paulo rentals so we checked a few out. Some were horrible, but others were incredible. We decided why not, and settled for this apartment, which wasn’t in the best location, but with a swimming pool and fully equipped gym in the building, was one of the best luxury Sao Paulo houses that we had found. What an experience – one week of luxury before the travelling begins!
My friends and I decided to go on a gorilla tour and this is how it went. We took to the road from Kampala which is the capital city of Uganda, very eager to see the gentle beast. Six hours later we were in Kabale. Kabale to Buhoma took us 3-4 hours and thank God we had a 4WD. The terrain is very hilly and the roads can be bumpy and in terrible spots. Tired and worn out we slept in one of the lodges located a few kilometers from Bwindi impenetrable national park. Bwindi is a magnificent verdant swathe across the steep ridges of the Albertine rift valley. We couldn’t imagine as small as the country is on the world map it would contain such beautiful sceneries in the world. This ancient rain forest is the home to more than half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Wherever you decide to track gorillas, the experience is all it promises to be and a great deal more. We had a long walk in the forest with a couple of hours of fighting our way through the forests behind machete wielding guides. It being hot and hard to get to; plus the terrain being very hilly made it a little difficult but when you do see the mountain gorillas, you forget everything and the experience is immediately worth every drop of sweat and dollar paid.
